Program Description
1. Program introduction (less than 400 characters)
The program focuses on basic pottery making techniques and static clay sculptures, in addition to systematic teaching on ceramic artistic practice. Specialized courses on basic pottery making techniques, static clay sculptures, ceramic decorative art, making of ceramics for daily use, ceramic technology, and artistic practice are offered. In the principle of upholding traditional culture, strengthening fundamental disciplines, and integrating interdisciplinary resources, efforts are made to exploit the advantages of curricula of the School of Crafts, coordinate the development of key courses of featured disciplines like the fundamentals of ceramic art creation and modern ceramic art creation, and build a complete teaching system in crafts.

Students taking the course will learn how to knead pottery clay, master the technique of chrysanthemum kneading, practice pottery making according to the procedures like clay centering, opening-up, base forming, body shaping, and clay modeling one by one so as to use the throwing technique to make pottery independently. |
